Sal Guarriello, longtime West Hollywood City Councilmember, passed away this morning. Sal recently turned 90 and announced at his birthday party that he would run for another term. That is how Sal lived, always moving, always looking forward. At last week’s City Council meeting, Sal was his usual vibrant self. This is a huge loss for the city. Sal was a force. Once Sal put his mind to something he made it so. He will be greatly missed. I very much enjoyed working with Sal, and his deputy, Donna, every year on the Don’t Drink & Drive Holiday Cocktail Napkin campaign. Sal leaves a legacy of community service that we should all strive for.
