As part of a National Day of Protest against the 1996 Federal Defense of Marriage Act – which prevents the federal government from recognizing same-sex marriages performed in any of the nation’s 50 states – thousands of LGBT Angelenos and their allies will gather in West Hollywood at The Resolution, an action fair focusing on the fights for Marriage Equality and against DOMA.
This event, organized by the Equal Roots Coalition (www.equalroots.com) with the support and involvement of Join the Impact (www.jointheimpact.com), the Courage Campaign, and Love, Honor, Cherish – among other organizations – will also feature a live presentation of “Prop. 8: The Musical,” featuring guest appearances by Queer As Folk’s Peter Paige, Ugly Betty’s Alec Mapa, My So-Called Life’s Wilson Cruz, Heroes’ Brea Grant, and Noah’s Arc’s Daryl Stephens and Doug Spearman.
