Fantasia Barrino wows at Cracked Xmas 11

American Idol Season 3 Winner, Fantasia Barrino, busted out onto the stage and quickly had the crowd on their feet during her four song set at The Trevor Project’s annual fundraising event, Cracked Xmas 11.

Starting with Rock Steady and going right into an amazing version of Chaka Khan’s, Tell Me Something Good, the crowd was captivated.

Fantasia went into the audience during her performance of Prince’s Purple Rain.  Her final piece was a beautiful, You were always on my mind, a song recorded by Elvis, Willie Nelson, and the Pet Shop Boys

Wanda Sykes kicked off the comedy portion of the show, followed shortly (pun intended) by Trevor favorite, Lesley Jordan

Anne Hathaway got into the spirit of the night by offering to auction herself off.  Although she started at $500.00 she quickly got the bid up to $12,000.00.

Anne presented the Trevor Life Award to Sigourney Weaver.  Sigourney was very gracious and we look forward to her upcoming film, Prayers for Bobby. Lifetime Television was presented with the Trevor Hope Award.  Also present were this year’s three Colin Higgins Foundation’s Youth Courage Awardees.

Below are photos with me and some of my favorite people; Trevor Founder, Peggy Rajski; Trevor Board Chair, Sean McManus; Former Trevor Vice Chair, Kristin Odermatt; Trevor Volunteer Extraordinaire, Beckie Wallace

  2. Sammy,

Saw Fantasia in “The Color Purple” and she was brilliant squared!

    Love the website,

  3. Fantasia totally BUSTED out…seriously…I thought the girls were coming out to play! All kidding aside, she really entertained and worked the crowd! As did all the celebrities at this year’s event. It was an amazing night of festive fun with the true message reaching everyone loud and clear on this Not So Silent Night- “The Trevor Project is Saving Young Lives!”
I was moved to tears at the clip from the new Lifetime movie , ‘ Prayers for Bobby’ starring Sigourney Weaver. It will air on January 24th, and I urge everyone to watch.
